Pulse electroplating was listed as a new electroplating technology in China during the 7th Five-Year Plan. It can significantly change the phenomena of uneven coating, rough surface and high porosity which are difficult to overcome by traditional DC electroplating, especially in noble metal electroplating. Therefore, pulse electroplating is more and more widely used in electroplating industry.
The QD series precious metal pulse electroplating power supply produced by our company is an original product in China. It has the function of one machine and two uses. It can be used in pulse electroplating and DC output with low ripple coefficient.
2. Compared with DC electroplating, pulse electroplating has the following main advantages:
● The coating quality is good, the coating is fine and bright, the porosity is low, the contact resistance is small, enhances the hardness, improves the extension and wear resistance, greatly improves the corrosion resistance of the coating.
● Pulse electroplating greatly improves the instantaneous current density, so that its average current density may be greater than the actual current density of DC electroplating, thus improving the electrodeposition speed, improve the production efficiency, generally can reduce the plating time of 30%-50%. Under the premise of satisfying the same coating quality, pulse electroplating can make the coating thickness thinner by 30%-50%, thus saving metal materials by 10%-20%, which is of great economic significance to gold, silver, palladium, rhodium, nickel and other precious metals.
● Pulse technology is used to recover silver in silver plating solution, the purity can be up to 99.9981%-99.9985%, the current efficiency is improved by 26%, electricity saving about 40%.
● Pulse plating on the plating solution requirements are not high, can be widely used without cyanide plating, so as to reduce environmental pollution.
3. Application of pulse electroplating
● Precious metal plating on connectors, jewelry and printed boards, which not only has good coating quality but also saves a lot of precious metal.
● Pulse electroplating is used in diamond tools and watch industry, which can significantly enhance the hardness and wear resistance of tools.
